It’s episode 2 of Portland Tea Party and we’re broadcasting live from the Heathman Hotel

Here’s what we’ve got:

Portland

We talk to Multnomah County District Attorney Michael Schmidt about what a District Attorney does, and how the legal system really functions.

Tea

District Attorney Schmidt stays with us to talk about his career path, why he loves Portland, and how people can support the issues and ideas they care about. Plus he answers key legal questions like does he watch Law & Order, what’s his go-to karaoke song, and what his future plans might include.

Tea at The Heathman

Through the end of the month your weekend plans should include lounging by a fire with friends enjoying scones, cucumber sandwiches and drinking Smith Tea at the Heathman Hotel. If you’re feeling extra indulgent (and you should) spring for the additional caviar service. Tea service is 11am-3pm Saturdays and Sundays through January 28. Reservations are limited! (Spoiler - WE GOT THE CAVIAR!)

Guest Info

Mike Schmidt is the elected District Attorney for Multnomah County. As DA, he believes advancing changes that build trust and more sensible use of limited resources will necessarily promote and advance public safety. During his tenure he has reversed a decades-long trend of disinvestment in the agency, and he has advanced work to make the criminal legal system more equitable and to reduce collateral impacts while holding offenders accountable. Outside of work, Mike enjoys playing darts, board games, watching the Blazers and the Saints, and spending time with his family exploring Oregon. The District Attorney can be found @multcoda.
